Classic Master Bathroom Design by ADJ Interiors

In the discovery phase of a recent master bathroom design, interior designer April Jensen of ADJ Interiors was given one simple directive. Her client, a bachelor, requested a master bathroom that would be comfortable to him, but would appeal to his future wife. I anticipate a few of our readers are ready to volunteer for a date after seeing the end result—elegant, stately and refined.

She began with Calacatta marble, pulling from the veins, taupe, brown, gray and a hint of green as the foundation for the space. Dedicated to the smallest details, April and her tile installer hand-selected and placed each of the 18 x 18 floor tiles. Next, the cabinetry would incorporate classic architectural elements; pediments, crown and columns. Various heights visually break up the vanity with designated his and hers sinks. Between them, easily accessible storage reaches to the ceiling, placing toiletries and towels at an arm’s length and at eye level. Above the sinks hang custom-framed mirrors and integrated sconces.

Chrome fixtures and accessories add shine while the simple silhouette of the freestanding tub lends a modern voice to the classic narrative. Equally elegant, the Calacatta marble continues into the shower, which is equipped with 4 body sprays, a handheld fixture, a rainhead and a regular shower head.

Suffice to say, we’re certain that the future bride of this thoughtful bachelor will shower her husband with praise (bathroom pun intended) for both his master bath and his good sense to have selected April Jensen to bring his vision to life.
