Top home tech innovations were on display at last week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Our resident expert, Aaron Walbrandt of Walbrandt Technologies, had his eye on Sin City and shared a short list of personal picks from names like LG, Sony and the buzz-worthy Alexa that was undoubtedly one of the holiday season’s hottest gifts.

LG W Series
Topping his list (and ours) are an impressive selection of OLED TVs. The new LG W Series is what they’re calling a Picture on Wall TV. With a depth of 2.5 mm (imagine three quarters stacked), this 4K UHD screen is actually a display panel; the processing unit is housed within the Dolby Atmos sound bar which is connected by a thin cord.

• 4K UHD OLED Display
• Available in 55″ and 77″
• WiFI AC, USB 3.0, Ethernet, HDMI

Sony Speakerless Bravia OLED TV
The Bravia OLED TV from Sony introduces a ground-breaking new technology that emits sound from the screen itself. The TV’s “Acoustic Surface” technology pairs images onscreen with the sound. The Bravia delivers an immersive experience without the need for separate speakers
• Slim frame maximizes viewing area
• Use built-in stand or wall mount
• Easy cord management design
“This is a world’s first, sound that actually comes from the screen.”
To quote Wired.com, “Alexa just conquered CES. The world is next.” Named the darling of CES 2017, Alexa’s voice control technology integrates with growing list of electronics, from appliances to speakers, even cars. Currently, Walbrandt Technologies utilizes voice control with Sonos and Crestron systems.
Both the Sony and LG TVs will be available through Walbrandt Technologies. Stop by the showroom or call 314.627.0346 for more information.
